Covanta Camden Community Benefits Fund grants $6,000 to launch an innovative drone technology program at an affordable housing community in Camden, NJ
Camden, NJ – Better Tomorrows, a distinguished non-profit organization based in Camden, New Jersey, dedicated to providing comprehensive case management and essential social services to residents of affordable housing communities, is thrilled to announce the receipt of a generous $6,000 grant from the Covanta Camden Community Benefits Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of South Jersey.
This significant grant will enable Better Tomorrows to introduce an innovative and enriching educational program focused on drone technology to fifteen children in grades 5 through 12 residing in affordable housing in the Morgan Village community. This initiative represents a vital step toward engaging youth in STEM-focused educational programming and providing them with an opportunity to interact with innovative technology,
The Drone Tech Navigators Academy 12-week program is scheduled to commence in the fall and will run through the end of 2023. During this time, participants will have the unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of drone technology, enhancing their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills while gaining hands-on experience in the field. The program aims to inspire a passion for science and technology; provide hands-on training and practical experience in drone operation and programming, equip participants with valuable technical skills for the future; and introduce students to career opportunities in the burgeoning field of drone technology.
